101 Okey Vip is a strategic tile game played over multiple rounds with four players. The objective is to finish each round with the lowest possible score, determined by the numbers on the remaining tiles in your hand. For instance, a red 3 equals three points, while a black 11 equals 11 points. The game concludes either when there are no more tiles to draw from the deck or when a player successfully completes their hand.
The dealer, chosen at the start, distributes 21 stones to each player and 22 to the player on their right. The remaining stones are placed face-down on the table, with one stone turned face-up to determine the joker (OKEY piece). The game proceeds counterclockwise, starting with the player to the right of the dealer, who has 22 stones and begins by discarding a tile without drawing one. Each subsequent player can either draw a tile from the deck or pick up the last discarded tile. If a player can form sequences or sets totaling 101 points, they can lay down their hand. After laying down their hand, they must discard a tile to end their turn, even if they've used all their tiles.
The joker (OKEY stone) changes with each game. Two fake joker tiles represent the number one higher than the face-up tile. For example, if the indicator tile is a blue 5, the real jokers are the two blue 6s in play, while the fake jokers are valued as blue 6. Jokers have a distinct appearance from other tiles.
To lay down your hand, you need at least 101 points, achieved through three or four sets of the same number but different colors (e.g., black 5, red 5, blue 5) or a sequential run of the same color (e.g., red 7, 8, 9). Each set must have at least three tiles. You can add tiles to existing sets on the table only after opening your hand. If you pick up a discarded tile, it must be used immediately in a set or to open your hand. If it cannot be used, it must be returned, and you draw a new tile from the deck without incurring penalty points.
Another way to open your hand is by collecting at least five pairs of tiles. Once you open your hand with doubles, you cannot form normal sets in the same game but can add to sets opened by other players.
