Fireboy and Watergirl is a beloved two-player game among children, standing out in the vast sea of online and flash games. These characters continually find themselves in mysterious temples, working together to solve puzzles and escape. You can play alone, switching between characters, or team up with a friend or sibling, each controlling a different character.

(Note: Some players mistakenly refer to the game as "Waterboy and Firegirl" or "Child of Water and Child of Fire.")

Navigate the temples by running and jumping between fire and water. Fireboy is immune to fire and can safely cross lava pools, but must avoid water. Conversely, Watergirl can traverse water but should stay away from lava. Both must be cautious of spikes. The objective is to reach the doors at the end of each screen, with Fireboy heading to the red door and Watergirl to the blue. Collect diamonds that match your character's color along the way to increase your score and ranking.

To progress, you'll need to trigger lifts by stepping on buttons, push boxes and bricks to reach higher areas, and manipulate switches. The game demands more than just running and jumping; it requires strategic teamwork. One character may need to hold down a switch or platform to help the other advance, then find a way to reunite. Some levels are timed challenges, while others require simultaneous control of both characters or the collection of special items before exiting.
