Warner Bros. Discovery's sudden removal of several Cartoon Network and Adult Swim games from digital storefronts has sparked widespread fan outrage. Hit titles like Steven Universe: Save the Light and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time are among those now unavailable for purchase. The publisher offered little explanation for the delistings.
At least six games have been affected, disappearing from platforms such as Steam and the Nintendo eShop. The removals are linked to Warner Bros. Discovery's cost-cutting measures, a trend seen in recent movie and streaming service decisions. A similar incident occurred in March 2024, involving Adult Swim titles, though public pressure prevented some delistings then.
This latest round of removals, noted by Wario64 on Twitter, included Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest (released in 2014), Adventure Time: Magic Man's Head Games, OK K.O.! Let's Play Heroes, Steven Universe: Save the Light, Steven Universe: Unleash the Light, and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time. Steam listings for these games simply state they are no longer available for sale after December 23, 2024.
While some Cartoon Network titles remain available (e.g., Cartoon Network Journeys VR), the lack of explanation from Warner Bros. Discovery, Cartoon Network Games, and Adult Swim Games has left fans frustrated. The delisting of Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is particularly upsetting, as it contained the canonical conclusion to the show's fifth season. The absence of a clear reason for these actions fuels fan anger and disappointment.
