Best Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! The season's crown jewel, and arguably its most powerful card, is Agamotto, the ancient sorcerer with ties to Doctor Strange. Let's explore the best Agamotto decks currently available.

How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with a game-changing ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:

  • Temporal Manipulation (1-cost): "On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)"
  • Wombs of Watoomb (2-cost): "On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)"
  • Bolts of Balthakk (3-cost): "On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)"
  • Images of Ikonn (4-cost): "On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)"

Notice the Arcana lack power cost and feature the "Banish" keyword. This classifies them as Skill cards, not character cards. They're played, then banished, never entering the discard pile. This means they can't be retrieved.

Consequently, you can combo the Arcana with Wong, but not Odin. King Etri won't draw Agamotto, Ravonna won't discount their cost, and Mister Negative is ineffective. Agamotto's diverse Arcana effects make him difficult to categorize into a single archetype, as he inherently diversifies deck composition.

Top Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

While Agamotto's ultimate archetype is still emerging, he currently shines in two deck types: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.

Wiccan Control

This deck (available via Untapped.gg link) includes Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galactus, Wiccan, Agamotto, and Alioth. Note this is a high-cost deck featuring many Series 5 cards. Many cards (except Galactus, Wiccan, and Agamotto) are replaceable with similar-cost alternatives.

Bolts of Balthakk's extra energy compensates for potentially not drawing Wiccan by turn 4. Temporal Manipulation provides early Agamotto access. Wombs of Watoomb disrupts opponents, and Images of Ikonn creates powerful board states by duplicating your strongest card, potentially triggering multiple Wiccan energy buffs or creating multiple Galactuses. Cassandra Nova benefits from Eson's synergy.

Push Scream

This deck (available via Untapped.gg link) features Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Stegron, Cannonball, and Agamotto. Again, this is a high-cost deck with several Series 5 cards (Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Rocket & Groot, and Cannonball). Hydra Bob can be replaced with Nightcrawler, and Iron Patriot with Jeff.

While only Wombs of Watoomb directly synergizes with Agamotto, Temporal Manipulation makes Agamotto a potent turn 6 play (especially after Bolts of Balthakk). Images of Ikonn excels here, creating multiple Screams, Spider-Men, or Cannonballs for overwhelming board control. This deck’s unpredictability counters Luke Cage and Shadow King decks.

Should You Buy the Prehistoric Avengers Season Pass?

Agamotto's power level rivals Thanos and Arishem. He'll be a fluctuating meta presence, potentially frustrating opponents with powerful synergies. His eventual unique archetype makes the $9.99 USD Season Pass worthwhile for those with the budget.
