Blizzard's handling of the Overwatch 2 Cyber DJ skin has ignited another controversy. Initially sold for $19.99, the skin was unexpectedly offered for free a day later to Twitch viewers watching a one-hour broadcast on February 12th. This has understandably angered players who purchased the skin before the free giveaway was announced.

This isn't the first time Blizzard has faced backlash for selling cosmetics and later offering them for free. Players are demanding refunds, citing unfair practices. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the store, Blizzard has yet to address refund requests.
Facing stiff competition, particularly from the successful Marvel Rivals, Blizzard aims to revitalize Overwatch 2. To that end, a special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th will showcase significant gameplay changes. The event promises reveals of new maps, heroes, and other content, with prominent streamers invited to Blizzard headquarters for an exclusive preview.
