If, like me, the breathtaking animation of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse left you in awe and made you question your life choices while studios like BUCK consistently deliver masterpieces (think Love, Death + Robots and Secret Level), you'll be thrilled to learn that this award-winning animation and design powerhouse is now venturing into game development.
BUCK has officially launched its new game development branch, BUCK Games, coinciding with the release of Netflix Games' The Electric State: Kid Cosmo. This game serves as an interactive extension of the film, offering players a unique experience tied to the larger narrative.
This isn't BUCK's first dive into gaming, though. They previously released Let’s! Revolution!, a colorful roguelite puzzle game. With over two decades of experience in animation and design, and a client list that includes Apple, Riot Games, and Microsoft, BUCK is poised to bring the same high-quality standards to its mobile game offerings through BUCK Games.
“Developing a game connected to a larger world was a new challenge, and demanded adaptability and ingenuity from our team,” says Michael Highland, Creative Director of BUCK Games. “We set out with an ambitious, unconventional vision, and our partners pushed us to make it the best version possible.”
While you wait for more from BUCK Games, you can dive into The Electric State: Kid Cosmo on Netflix. If you're curious about other offerings, check out these top Netflix games as well.
