Rey Dau, the first dragon you'll face in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, possesses the lightning element, rendering it immune to lightning attacks. However, it's vulnerable to other elements, particularly water and ice. Prioritize attacking its head (4-star weakness) or wings (3-star weakness). Avoid its sturdy torso and well-protected legs. Utilize all status ailments except Stun and Paralysis.
Employ Flash Pods to temporarily stun Rey Dau, creating openings for powerful attacks. During its lightning attacks, aim for its glowing red horns (enter Focus Mode for better visibility) to inflict significant damage.
Enhance your survivability with element-resistant gear. The Hope Armor set, with its Divine Blessing skill reducing damage and offering resistance to Lightning and Fire, is a strong choice. Consider boosting your elemental resistance with a pre-battle meal.
If dodging proves difficult, stay close to Rey Dau's legs. Its attacks primarily target areas in front and behind it, offering increased protection.
Rey Dau's flight patterns will take it across the Windward Plains. Utilize Vine Traps near the lone tree to briefly stun it, but exercise caution near its nest, where a powerful follow-up lightning attack awaits.

Capture Rey Dau for additional rewards by reducing its health until the skull icon appears near its mini-map icon. Use a Pitfall Trap (Shock Traps are ineffective against lightning-element monsters) followed by a Tranquilizer to secure the capture. Act swiftly, as you have limited time.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
