Crunchyroll Launches New Card Game Simulator: Kardboard Kings

Crunchyroll has added Kardboard Kings to its Android library! This single-player shop management game puts you in the shoes of a card shop owner, where running a business becomes a thrilling adventure. Initially released on PC in February 2022, Kardboard Kings, developed by Henry’s House and Oscar Brittain, published by Akupara Games, has now made its way to consoles and mobile devices thanks to Crunchyroll. What Awaits You in Kardboard Kings?

Step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his father's card shop. His dad was a renowned card collector and former champion of the legendary card game, Warlock. Now, Harry's the new face behind the counter, navigating the exciting world of buying, selling, and trading cards.

He's not alone in this endeavor! Giuseppe, a fast-talking, card-dealing cockatoo, becomes Harry's trusted business partner, possessing an uncanny ability to spot a great deal.

Located by the seaside, Harry's shop is a charming hub of activity. Keep your customers happy, or, if you're feeling mischievous, try squeezing a little extra profit from each transaction.

The game boasts charming and sarcastic characters, references to other card games and anime, and over 100 uniquely designed cards with quirky illustrations, including shiny variants.

Gameplay Details:

The core gameplay is simple: buy low, sell high, and profit! However, as you progress, card conditions and set rarities fluctuate, adding layers of complexity. Foil finishes, abilities, and popularity all impact a card's value.

Kardboard Kings also features a roguelite deckbuilding mode on Card Game Island, where you’ll face off against skilled duelists. You can also host tournaments, throw booster pack parties, or even hold clearance sales to manage your inventory.
