In a recent interview with ScreenRant promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (where he and Reeves reunite as Knuckles and Shadow, respectively), Idris Elba expressed his strong belief that a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action adaptation would be phenomenal, especially with himself and Keanu Reeves reprising their roles. He stated, "Oh, man, that's a great question. I think if any film could do a live-action rendition, it could be [Cyberpunk 2077], and I think his character and my character together would be, ‘Whoa.’ So, let's speak that into existence."

Elba's Solomon Reed and Reeves' Johnny Silverhand, iconic characters from the game and its Phantom Liberty DLC, would undoubtedly make for a compelling on-screen pairing.

This isn't just wishful thinking; Variety reported in October 2023 that a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action project is underway, with CD Projekt Red collaborating with Anonymous Content.
