Days Gone Remastered: Enhanced PS5 Experience with New Modes and Features
Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure, Days Gone, is getting a remastered release for the PlayStation 5, boasting a range of new features and improvements. Announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play, the PS5 version includes enhancements such as Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support and PS5 Pro optimization.
But the real highlights are the new gameplay additions. These include a thrilling permadeath mode, a challenging speedrun mode, a significantly enhanced photo mode, and expanded accessibility options. A new Horde Assault arcade mode lets players confront even larger hordes of Freakers than in the original game, providing a fresh and intense challenge.
Days Gone Remastered launches on April 25, 2025. PS4 owners can upgrade for $10. Watch the debut trailer below:
This remastered edition represents Sony's continued effort to bring popular PS4 titles to the PS5 with enhanced features. It joins other upgraded games like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
PC players aren't left out. While Days Gone is already available on PC, a $10 DLC titled "Broken Roads" will deliver the new modes, enhanced photo mode, DualSense controller support (if applicable), and accessibility features to that platform.
A PlayStation.Blog post revealed further details. The PS5 version is built from the ground up for the console, offering improved visuals selectable between Performance and Quality modes. PS5 Pro users will experience further graphical enhancements and take advantage of the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Days Gone Remastered will retail at $49.99. Pre-orders begin tomorrow, with early bird bonuses including eight PSN avatars and five in-game unlocks. For a comprehensive overview of the State of Play announcements, check out our summary here.
