Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile release on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market. The game blends diverse missions and modes with a tactical gameplay focus.
For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise is a veteran of the FPS genre, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the real-life US military special forces unit, the series has always emphasized realistic weaponry and gadgetry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has revitalized the Delta Force experience. The game features Warfare mode, offering large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, and Operations mode, embracing the extraction shooter style. A single-player campaign, drawing inspiration from the Battle of Mogadishu and the film Black Hawk Down, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced criticism regarding its anti-cheat measures. Tencent's approach, while aggressive, has drawn some negative feedback. While the effectiveness of their G.T.I. Security team remains to be seen, the stringent PC restrictions have been met with mixed reactions.
Although cheating might be less prevalent on mobile, the initial controversy could still impact the game's reception. However, the potential for a smoother mobile experience remains.
