A Kindling Forest: A Solo Developer's Clever Auto-Runner
Dennis Berndtsson, a high school teacher and solo game developer, presents his latest creation: A Kindling Forest. This action-adventure game, more precisely a side-scrolling auto-runner, is packed with innovative gameplay mechanics. Expect forests, arrows, and a generous helping of lava!
The Story: A Demon's Wrath and an Archer's Quest
An ancient demon unleashes chaos upon the world, prompting forest spirits to awaken a long-dormant archer. Armed with a bow and arrow, he embarks on a perilous quest to vanquish the demon. But this isn't your typical straightforward adventure.
Gameplay: Constant Motion and Precise Aim
Prepare for relentless action! The screen continuously scrolls, presenting a barrage of sharp, unpredictable obstacles. Your options? Dodge or destroy them with your arrows. Arrows are your most valuable resource, literally gifts from the forest spirits. Run out, and it's game over. Every shot must be precise and well-timed.
Five Levels of Increasing Chaos
A Kindling Forest features five increasingly challenging levels. Navigate treacherous landscapes, leaping over spiders, teleporting through ruins, soaring above clouds, and escaping fiery lava flows. Strategic use of checkpoints allows for retries and adjustments to your tactics.
Dual-Screen Controls and Slow-Motion Aiming
The game cleverly utilizes your phone's screen, dividing it for jumping and shooting controls. Timing is crucial. A helpful slow-motion effect during aiming provides the precision you need.
