The DOOM franchise's cross-platform compatibility continues to amaze. A recent feat showcases the game running on an unexpected platform: Apple's Lightning/HDMI adapter. NyanSatan, the individual behind this achievement, leveraged the adapter's iOS-based firmware and 168 MHz processor. Utilizing a MacBook for memory (as the adapter lacks internal storage), they successfully executed the classic DOOM game.

Regarding upcoming iterations, DOOM: The Dark Ages will prioritize accessibility. Players will have extensive customization options, unlike previous id Software titles. Demon aggression can be adjusted, allowing for a tailored difficulty experience. Executive producer Marty Stratton highlighted the studio's commitment to accessibility, emphasizing adjustable enemy damage, projectile speed, and other parameters like game tempo and parry timing.

Furthermore, Stratton confirmed that prior DOOM experience isn't necessary to understand the narratives of DOOM: The Dark Ages or DOOM: Eternal. Each game's storyline stands independently.
