Mastering Effort Value (EV) Training for Attack in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Whether aiming for five- and six-star Tera Raid victories or conquering the ranked ladder, optimal stat distribution is paramount in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Simply leveling up through random encounters yields suboptimal, often below-average stats. Fortunately, several locations offer efficient Attack EV farming. This guide highlights the best spots.

Best Places to Farm Attack EV

Pokémon Center Area – North Province (Area Two)

A community favorite, this northeastern area (near Team Star's Fighting Crew base) boasts numerous Pokémon yielding pure Attack EVs: Lokix, Scyther, Bisharp, Heracross, Dratini, and Ursaring. Note that not all provide exclusively Attack EVs; Falinks, for example, offers a mixed Attack/Special Defense boost. Consistent battles are key for maximizing damage output.

For precise EV control, the eastern outskirts of Porto Marinada excel. Paldean Tauros groups yield 2 EVs each, boosted to 10 with a Power Bracer, allowing for quick accumulation and precise adjustments by removing the item afterward.

Utilizing the Power Bracer for EV Training

The Power Bracer, purchased at Delibird Presents (Mesagoza, Levincia, Cascarrafa) for 10,000 Pokédollars, significantly accelerates EV training. It grants an additional +8 Attack EVs per defeated Pokémon. This is more cost-effective than bulk vitamin purchases.

Mass outbreaks further enhance EV gains. However, these are unpredictable. Two reliable choices stand out:

Flamigo

Common near lakes and swamps, Flamigo appear at various levels, suitable even for low-level teams (e.g., southeastern South Province lakes near Grasswither Shrine). Higher-level Flamigo are found at Casseroya Watchtower No. 1 (south of Casseroya Lake), especially during "Encounter Power: Fighting" boosts. However, these are around level 50. Avoid level 9-20 Flamigo, which may possess "Detect."

Paldean Tauros

Found in central-western and central-eastern regions, Paldean Tauros usually appear in groups of five, especially with "Encounter Power: Fighting" active. Hunting south of Levincia is recommended. Some possess "Intimidate," slightly slowing battles.

Both Flamigo and Paldean Tauros are ideal, yielding 2 Attack EVs each (10 with a Power Bracer), requiring only 26 battles to reach the 252 EV cap. Use the "Tropical Sandwich" ("Encounter Power: Fighting Lv. 1") for increased encounter rates. Kelpsy Berries reduce EVs by 10, enabling precise stat adjustments.

Efficient EV training demands patience and strategic choices. Prioritize locations like North Province Area Two, utilize the Power Bracer, and target Flamigo or Paldean Tauros during mass outbreaks. Avoid auto-battles and Pokémon with hindering abilities to maximize efficiency.
