Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, faced a unique challenge when she was young. Exposure to uranium near her home led to a severe illness. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted a groundbreaking solution by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a long recovery period, Jessica not only overcame the negative effects but also emerged with extraordinary spider powers, eventually becoming Spider-Woman. You'll have the opportunity to add this new champion to your roster starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman makes her debut, another intriguing champion will join the fray. Lumatrix arrives on April 9th, bringing a stark contrast to Spider-Woman with his background as one of the most lethal assassins created by the Founders. Designed for infiltration and elimination, Lumatrix wields impressive light-based powers.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina severely injured after a confrontation with Ouroborus's forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom surprisingly allies with the Fantastic Four as Chronoserpent corruption spreads throughout the game. A new villain, Lotan, also enters the scene, adding another layer of intrigue.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest "Dark Bounties," placing bounties on various Champions. Players must track them down to claim their rewards.

The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector makes a comeback, challenging players to assemble their strongest Saga champions to earn Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
