Hunting for resources in Monster Hunter Wilds can be a rewarding yet challenging endeavor. Sharp Fangs, a crucial crafting material, are often sought after by early-game players. This guide will walk you through the most efficient methods to find and farm these valuable items.

Sharp Fangs are obtainable early in Monster Hunter Wilds, primarily within the Windward Plains. These fangs are essential for crafting early-game armor sets like Chatacabra and Talioth. To begin your hunt, consider undertaking optional quests like “Beware the Chatacabra” or “The Desert is Demanding.” These quests provide convenient access to the Windward Plains and offer a generous 50-minute time limit. Remember to prepare with a hearty meal before embarking on your quest.

Once in the Windward Plains, focus your efforts on Area 8, the largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While several creatures here can drop Sharp Fangs, the Gaijo is your best bet.

Gaijos: Your Primary Target

Gaijos, small leviathan-like creatures resembling crocodiles, are commonly found near or in riverbeds within Area 8. Their location is easily identified on the interactive map by the purple diamond markers near water sources. These relatively weak monsters are quickly dispatched, and each one guarantees a single Sharp Fang upon carving.

With several Gaijos typically spawning in Area 8, and the ability to repeatedly access the Windward Plains through optional quests, farming Sharp Fangs from Gaijos is highly efficient.

Talioth: An Alternate Source

Talioth, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), also have a chance to drop Sharp Fangs. While not guaranteed, hunting Talioths offers a secondary method for obtaining these fangs. Additionally, hunting Talioths conveniently progresses the “The Desert is Demanding” optional quest, requiring the slaying of eight Talioths.
