People Can Fly, the studio behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment on a new game, codenamed Project Delta. According to People Can Fly's report, Project Delta will be developed as a work-for-hire title, though specifics remain undisclosed.
This latest project adds to People Can Fly's already extensive portfolio. The studio is currently juggling several projects with similar codenames, including Project Gemini (a collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 layoffs last year), Project Echo (with Krafton), Project Red (potentially also with Sony), and Project Bison, a VR title recently announced as their final VR project.
In recent months, the studio has made some significant adjustments to its development pipeline. Last December, work on Project Victoria was suspended, and Project Bifrost saw a scaling-down of its development. Earlier, in April, Project Dagger, an action-adventure game planned in partnership with Take-Two Interactive, was cancelled.
Despite these changes, People Can Fly still has eight known projects underway, including the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day remains unannounced, Project Gemini, the Square Enix collaboration, is currently slated for a 2026 release.
