Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced: A Decade of Visual Evolution

Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition, Rockstar's next-gen update for PC, is finally here. This release boasts significant graphical improvements and new features, including full DualSense controller support, promising a revitalized experience for PC players.

The enhancements are impressive, featuring ray-traced reflections, redesigned vehicles, and numerous subtle tweaks that boost visual fidelity. A recent GameV YouTube video highlights the graphical evolution over the past decade, showcasing the most dramatic differences in low-light conditions like rainy nights or shadowy areas, where ray tracing and global illumination truly shine. The improvements are less noticeable under bright sunlight.

Despite a strong launch—peaking at over 187,000 concurrent players on Steam, exceeding the standard edition's recent peak of 184,000—player reception is mixed. The game currently holds a 56% positive rating on Steam, with many questioning the update's value given the relatively minor visual enhancements. Further criticism centers on DualSense controller issues and glitches during character transfers from the original GTA Online. While some players report successful transfers, others are encountering persistent bugs.
