In a recent discussion, analyst Matthew Ball suggested that if Rockstar and Take-Two set new pricing standards for AAA games at $100, it could potentially save the gaming industry. This sparked a significant debate among gamers, particularly regarding the entry-level price of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. A survey revealed that over one-third of nearly 7,000 respondents are willing to pay $100 for the basic version of this new sandbox game from Rockstar, despite Ubisoft's trend of offering extended editions at higher prices.

Matthew Ball's statement, which went viral across the internet, argued that if game publishers start pricing their titles at $100, it could set a precedent for the industry. He specifically pointed to Rockstar and Take-Two as potential leaders in this pricing shift.

Rockstar has announced plans to update Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online in 2025, aligning the PC version with the enhancements seen in the PS5 and Xbox Series versions. While specific details are sparse, it's expected that these updates will go beyond mere visual improvements.

Currently exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series users, the GTA+ subscription might soon extend to PC gamers. Additionally, certain features available in the console version of Grand Theft Auto Online, such as Hao's exclusive car modifications that allow for extreme speed boosts, are not yet available on PC. There's a strong possibility that these high-speed modifications will become accessible to PC players in the near future.
