Longvinter, the PC's Answer to Animal Crossing, Leaves Early Access on Steam

Longvinter, after a three-year journey through early access on Steam, has finally reached its 1.0 release! This milestone update, incorporating extensive player feedback and bug fixes, offers a revitalized experience for both veterans and newcomers.

The most significant addition is the introduction of oil rigs scattered across the archipelago. Players can now extract oil, refine it into fuel, and engage in intense battles against LRI mercenaries controlling vital supply lines. This is complemented by exciting new events, including helicopter crashes yielding valuable tactical gear, and an underground arena offering hourly battles for lucrative rewards.

The game world is significantly richer, boasting new wildlife such as lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats—all tamable as mounts! A plethora of new items have been added, including buff-providing hats, combat vests, an array of weapons and explosives, new kitchen recipes, and interactive building and decorating objects like oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Weapon balance has also undergone significant adjustments.

Future plans are equally ambitious. The upcoming 1.1 update will introduce farming mechanics, a streamlined tutorial, apartment rentals, and the ability to create shared communities. Furthermore, Longvinter's journey will continue with a PlayStation release planned for 2026, bringing the game to a wider audience.
