This guide dives into the challenging yet rewarding Infested Clear missions in 7 Days To Die. These missions offer substantial XP, valuable loot, and a chance to acquire rare items. Let's explore how to tackle them.
To begin, visit one of the five traders (Rekt, Jen, Bob, Hugh, or Joe). Mission difficulty depends on the tier (higher tiers are tougher) and biome (Wasteland missions are harder than forest missions). You'll need to unlock Tier 2 missions (requiring 10 completed Tier 1 missions) to access Infested missions. Be prepared for a higher zombie density and tougher enemies like radiated zombies, cops, and ferals. Tier 6 Infested missions are the most challenging but offer the best rewards. The objective remains consistent: eliminate all enemies within the designated area.
Upon reaching the Point of Interest (POI), activate the mission marker. Leaving the area or dying results in mission failure. The game often guides you down a specific, potentially treacherous path. Avoid this! Find alternative routes to bypass traps. Carry building blocks to escape traps or create unexpected access points.
Zombies are indicated by red dots on the screen; larger dots mean closer proximity. Focus headshots for efficient kills. Be aware of special zombie types:
Zombie Type | Abilities | Countermeasures |
---|---|---|
Cops | Spit toxic vomit, explode when injured | Maintain distance, use cover before they spit. |
Spiders | Jump long distances | Listen for their screech before they leap. |
Screamers | Summon other zombies | Prioritize eliminating them. |
Demolition Zombies | Carry explosive packages | Avoid hitting their chests; run if the explosive beeps. |
The final room holds the best loot, but also the largest concentration of zombies. Ensure you're fully healed and prepared before entering. Always know your escape route. Once all zombies are eliminated, report back to the trader. Besides standard loot, you'll find an Infested Cache with valuable supplies.
Your rewards are randomized but influenced by game stage, loot stage (boosted by the "Lucky Looter" skill and Treasure Hunter mod), mission tier, and skill points. Investing in the "A Daring Adventurer" perk is crucial. At rank 4, you can select two rewards instead of one! This perk also increases the Dukes earned, which translate to XP when selling unwanted items. After claiming rewards, sell excess items to maximize XP gains.
