Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio unveil new details for their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. This first-person shooter, boasting a striking visual style reminiscent of 1930s cartoons, places players in the shoes of private investigator Jack Pepper.
The game plunges players into a vibrant, jazz-filled world brimming with noir intrigue and dynamic action sequences. A key announcement, made via the game's official X account, confirms the absence of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a traditional, pay-once model is noteworthy in the indie game landscape.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire's distinctive aesthetic draws heavily from the rubber hose animation style popular in 1930s cartoons. Players will navigate a city steeped in noir atmosphere, confronting mobs, gangs, and corrupt officials. A diverse arsenal of weapons, power-ups, and explosives aids in the fight for justice. The game playfully subverts typical FPS conventions with whimsical weaponry, a unique health system, and cartoonish enemies.
While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for release sometime in 2025.
