Netflix is set to release a new Witcher animated movie on February 11, 2025. Discover more about this exciting addition to the Witcher universe!
Netflix Tudum, the official Netflix news source, announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, debuting February 11, 2025. This animated film adapts Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny.
The story unfolds in a coastal village where a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk compels a kingdom to enlist Geralt's services. This time, Geralt faces a different kind of threat, trading typical monsters for the aquatic challenges of battling merpeople.
Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren, known for Will Trent, joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.
Sapkowski himself acts as a creative consultant. The screenplay is penned by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, writers for the live-action series. Directing the film is Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
The film's timeline fits neatly between episodes 5 and 6 of the first season of the live-action series. Following Geralt and Yennefer's meeting in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt is hired to resolve a coastal monster problem.
The location is likely somewhere near the coasts of Redania and Temeria. Based on "A Little Sacrifice," the setting could be Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval. Whether the film adheres strictly to the source material remains to be seen.
