NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one weapon will feel familiar to Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats during your first playthrough.

Where To Find The Engine Blade in NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is located within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to progress to a later point in the game playing as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) offers a shortcut to quickly acquire it. Begin at the "Factory: Hanger" access point.

Exiting the access point room, take the right path (a 2D camera perspective will activate). Pass a fenced-off area, ascend the broken stairs, and navigate the conveyor belt with crates. The subsequent conveyor belt features crushing presses; carefully avoid them. Jump to the next cylindrical area, where spider-like enemies will appear.

Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. Midway, the railing ends, and the platform extends towards the camera. Shift the camera angle to initiate another 2D platforming section. Jump across the presses, following the path to the left. A final room contains three chests. The Engine Blade is in the left chest; a locked chest is on the right.

Note: Exploding enemies will drop from the ceiling as you approach the chest.

Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon allows four upgrades, eventually reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding the Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range, providing more predictable damage output.
