A potential Pokemon Legends: Z-A release date leaked online, suggesting that the game will hit the market on August 15, 2025. This purported date matches the rough release window that The Pokemon Company previously attached to Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A was originally announced in February 2024, as part of last year's Pokemon Day celebrations. Much like its name implies, this upcoming entry is envisioned as a follow-up to the 2022 Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which is an exploration-focused experience that sacrifices series staples like gym battles and Pokemon league in favor of a more collection-focused and open-ended experience. Nothing of substance has been officially shared about the game since its early 2024 reveal.
And while this period of radio silence continues, a potential Pokemon Legends: Z-A release date has recently leaked online, courtesy of a head-turning Amazon update. As noted by content creator Light_88_, the Amazon UK page for the upcoming game has briefly listed it as being scheduled to release on August 15. The change, spotted on January 8, was quickly redacted, reverting to the original placeholder date of December 31. Pokemon Legends: Z-A was originally announced as a 2025 title, so the August 15 date matches that tentative launch window.
Regardless of the veracity of this information, the real Pokemon Legends: Z-A release date could plausibly become official before long. Much like the game itself was officially announced for Pokemon Day 2024, its release date could be revealed during the 2025 edition of the event. Pokemon Day falls on February 27, the date of the original Japanese release of Pokemon Red and Green. One dataminer inspecting the latest Pokemon GO build has recently uncovered evidence suggesting that Pokemon Day 2025 will indeed take place on the 27th of February.
An official release date confirmation is far from the only thing that fans can expect from Pokemon Legends: Z-A in the near future. The upcoming title is still waiting for a gameplay reveal, which is another thing that could feasibly debut during the next Pokemon Day Pokemon Presents broadcast.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A was initially announced as a Switch exclusive. But the game is also going to run on the Switch 2, as Nintendo has since confirmed that its upcoming console will offer backward compatibility. While mainline Pokemon games have consistently offered paid post-release content, Pokemon Legends: Arceus only received a single post-launch DLC—a free content update titled Daybreak.
