Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, the moment we've been waiting for is here — IO Interactive has officially announced that their upcoming James Bond game, titled Project 007, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive's website, this game promises to deliver an entirely fresh narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," IO Interactive shared, giving fans a glimpse into the game's storyline. This exciting development means gamers will experience the journey of becoming the legendary spy from the ground up.
Back in October, Hakan Abrak, the head of IO Interactive, shared insights with IGN about crafting this new origin story for the cherished agent. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. Abrak further elaborated on the vision for the game, stating, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
While the release date for Project 007 remains under wraps, fans can stay updated on all the latest announcements from the recent Nintendo Direct here. Get ready to embark on a thrilling new adventure with James Bond on the Nintendo Switch 2.
