In an exciting crossover event, a Sony property is making waves in a Microsoft game. Sea of Thieves, the beloved pirate adventure, has introduced new cosmetics inspired by the world of Destiny 2, bringing the epic battle against the Darkness to the high seas. The Lightbearer cosmetics set includes a variety of items such as new flags, ship cosmetics, a costume set, and more, allowing players to immerse themselves in the Destiny universe while sailing the treacherous waters.

The trailer for these new items showcases numerous Destiny references, including the iconic Drifter's outfit and a ghost hanging off the front of a ship. Players can explore a wealth of options at the Pirate Emporium to deck out their ship and sailor with these unique Destiny-themed cosmetics.

Sea of Thieves made its debut on PlayStation last year, marking one of several Microsoft properties that have expanded to Sony's console. Meanwhile, Destiny, which has been available on Xbox, remained there even after Bungie's acquisition by Sony. This crossover not only blurs traditional console boundaries but also brings a fun twist to Sea of Thieves, with the Drifter's outfit particularly fitting the game's aesthetic.

With the launch of Season 15, Sea of Thieves has introduced various new encounters, voyages, and content, keeping the long-running piracy experience fresh and engaging. Rare's game has not only stayed afloat but also achieved success on the PlayStation 5, topping an EU sales chart upon its release on the platform.

On the other hand, Destiny 2 has recently released the Heresy expansion, continuing its journey following the narrative climax of The Final Shape. The space-faring shooter has also engaged in other notable crossovers, including one with Star Wars.

Both Sea of Thieves and Destiny 2 have navigated the ever-changing landscape of live-service game production successfully, making this crossover a delightful collaboration. The Destiny 2-themed cosmetics are now available in Sea of Thieves, although it's unclear if Destiny 2 will receive any Sea of Thieves content in return. In a playful suggestion, it would be thrilling to see a massive pirate ship sailing through the cosmos in Destiny 2.
