Recent speculation surrounding a cryptic cake-related profile picture change by a Hollow Knight co-creator had Hollow Knight fans buzzing. However, Team Cherry’s Marketing and PR Manager, Matthew Griffin, clarified that the cake was simply a harmless profile picture change and not a hidden message. Despite this, Griffin offered reassuring news: "Yes the game is real, progressing and will release." This confirmation, the first in over a year and a half, is a welcome update for long-awaiting fans.

A Six-Year Journey (and Counting)

Initially revealed in February 2019 with a projected release in the first half of 2023, Silksong’s release was postponed in May 2023. Team Cherry cited the game's expanded scope and their desire for further refinement as reasons for the delay. The team previously highlighted Silksong's features: a new kingdom, nearly 150 new enemies, and a challenging new difficulty level called Silk Soul mode. While the delay is now nearing two years, Griffin's recent statement offers a much-needed reassurance.

The news has been met with a mixed response.
