STALKER 2’s updated PC system requirements are out, and it seems the game’s desolate wastes will be as intense for your PC as they are for your character.
STALKER 2 PC System Requirements RevealedHigh-End Gaming Rigs Required for 4K, High Frame Rates
Just a week before its official release on November 20th, STALKER 2’s final system requirements have finally been revealed, and it’s looking like the game will demand a lot for hardware, even for players aiming to play on the lowest settings. The requirements are even more demanding for those who want to experience the game on higher settings.
Refer to the table below for a detailed breakdown of the updated system requirements.
OS
Windows 10 x64Windows 11 x64
RAM
16GB Dual Channel
32GB Dual Channel
Storage
SSD ~160GB
While the minimum requirements are relatively modest, achieving smooth gameplay at 4K resolution and high frame rates necessitates a powerful gaming rig. The "epic" settings, in particular, are so demanding that they could easily eclipse the infamous performance requirements of Crysis' highest settings back in 2007.
The game’s storage requirement also jumped from 150GB to 160GB. For PC users, an SSD is recommended, not only for storage but also for loading speeds essential in a game where one wrong turn can be fatal.
When asked about upscaling options like Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, technologies that enhance visual quality without compromising performance, the developers confirmed both would be available in the game. However, the specific version of FSR to be implemented remains unclear.
Moreover, the developers also confirmed in an interview with Wccftech during Gamescom 2024 that the game would feature software ray tracing. Regarding hardware ray tracing, however, Lead Producer Slava Lukyanenka stated, "it’s too early for us, but we are experimenting with that. We are trying to have it on the release date, but it is highly unlikely you will have it at launch."
Set to launch on November 20, 2024, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be a demanding game, especially as it offers an open-world, non-linear single-player adventure where your choices will shape the narrative and impact the outcome of your playthrough.
