Could Clash of Clans, or another major Supercell property, be heading to the big screen? It's more likely than you might think. The Finnish mobile developer, Supercell, has recently announced they are looking to hire a senior film and TV development executive. This move suggests they may be following in the footsteps of fellow Finnish developer Rovio, who successfully brought Angry Birds to cinemas back in 2016.

However, as pointed out by our sister site PocketGamer.biz, the job description for this new hire isn't just about immediately jumping into film production. Instead, it focuses on developing a strategy for both live-action and animated films, covering theatrical and streaming distribution. In simpler terms, this role seems to be more about planning and strategizing than immediate action. Still, it's a safe bet that Supercell might already be sketching out preliminary ideas on how to bring their popular games to the screen if they decide to go forward with this venture.

Clash for the agesSupercell has been pushing boundaries within their gaming catalog, notably with exciting crossovers and collaborations, such as their partnership with WWE. Given this trend, transitioning to film and animation seems like a logical next step for the developer.

Even though a significant amount of time has passed since Clash of Clans was first released, it's important to remember that the hugely successful Angry Birds movie came out seven years after the game's debut. Clash of Clans still boasts a robust audience, and Supercell's newer IPs like Mo.co could potentially be adapted into family-friendly movies.

Only time will tell how this unfolds. In the meantime, if you're looking for something to keep you entertained, why not check out our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week?
