This in-depth review covers a month of using the Victrix Pro BFG Tekken 8 Rage Art Edition controller across PC, PS5, PS4, and Steam Deck. While the modular design and customization options are highly praised, several shortcomings prevent it from achieving peak performance.

Unboxing and Contents: The controller arrives in a high-quality protective case, bundled with a braided cable, a six-button fightpad module, two gates, extra analog stick and D-pad caps, a screwdriver, and a wireless USB dongle. The Tekken 8 themed design elements are visually appealing, but replacement parts may be limited.

Compatibility: Seamlessly works on PS5, PS4, and PC (including Steam Deck, without additional drivers). Wireless functionality requires the included dongle, and switching between PS4/PS5 modes is straightforward.

Features and Customization: The modular design allows for symmetric/asymmetric stick layouts and interchangeable D-pads, catering to various game genres. Adjustable trigger stops are another plus, offering flexibility for different game types. However, the lack of rumble, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and gyro support is a significant drawback for a controller marketed as "Pro." Four paddle-like buttons provide extra functionality, though fully removable paddles would be preferred.

Design and Feel: The vibrant Tekken 8 themed design is visually striking, although the controller feels slightly light. The grip is excellent, ensuring comfortable extended play sessions. The build quality is good but not quite on par with premium options like the DualSense Edge.

PS5 Specifics: While officially licensed, the controller lacks the ability to power on the PS5, a common limitation for third-party controllers. Haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and gyro remain absent.

Steam Deck Performance: The controller works flawlessly on Steam Deck via the dongle, correctly identified as a PS5 controller with full share button and touchpad functionality.

Battery Life: A clear advantage over DualSense controllers; battery life is significantly longer. A low-battery indicator on the touchpad is a welcome addition.

Software: The accompanying software (Microsoft Store exclusive) wasn't tested. However, the controller's plug-and-play functionality on the other platforms is commendable. iOS compatibility was unfortunately absent.

Drawbacks: The absence of rumble, a low polling rate, the lack of included Hall Effect sensors (requiring a separate purchase), and the dongle requirement for wireless use are substantial drawbacks. These issues, particularly the low polling rate, significantly impact the controller's performance compared to wired competitors. The lack of aesthetic consistency when using the optional Hall Effect modules is also noted.

Overall: The Victrix Pro BFG Tekken 8 Rage Art Edition controller boasts impressive customization, but its shortcomings, especially the lack of rumble and the low polling rate, hinder its potential. While enjoyable to use, the high price point and several unresolved issues prevent it from being a truly exceptional controller.

Final Score: 4/5
