Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of the event, kicking off the year's Xbox game reveals. The first Developer Direct event was held in January 2023, followed by a second in January 2024. This consistent January scheduling continues with the 2025 edition.
The showcase begins at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. While rumors circulated earlier in January, the official announcement confirms the date.

Microsoft has confirmed three titles for the showcase:
South of Midnight: This stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few) was initially unveiled in June 2023. A release date is expected at the Developer Direct.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), aiming for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was announced in June 2024 and showcased a playable demo at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is rumored.
While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs (lasting over 40 minutes each) have featured multiple titles. The 2024 event highlighted Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, and Visions of Mana. Expect potential surprises beyond the confirmed lineup in the 2025 showcase.
