Zomboid Sensation: Expert Unveils Essential Guide to Hotwiring

In Project Zomboid, navigating the vast map is easier with a working vehicle. If you can't find the keys, hotwiring is a viable option. This guide outlines the process and requirements.

Hotwiring in Project Zomboid allows you to drive a vehicle without keys, provided it has fuel and is in good condition. However, you need either Level 1 Electrical and Level 2 Mechanics skills, or you must choose the Burglar occupation at character creation to bypass these skill requirements.

How to Hotwire:

1. Enter the vehicle.
2. Open the vehicle radial menu (default key: V).
3. Select "Hotwire" and wait.

Once the process completes, press W to start the engine. Remember to check for fuel!

Leveling Up Skills:

To increase Electrical and Mechanics skills:

• Electrical: Dismantle electronics (watches, radios, TVs).
• Mechanics: Remove and reinstall mechanical parts.

Books and magazines also provide skill boosts. Check mailboxes, sheds, and bookshelves while looting. Server admins can use the "/addxp" command to directly award skill XP.
