READY! for Kindergarten is the leading school readiness program.
Developed by The Children's Reading Foundation, READY! for Kindergarten is a premier program designed for children aged 2-5, or older children needing to improve core skills.
The READY! for Kindergarten app uses interactive games to prepare your child for academic success. Each game focuses on a specific core skill, designed for repeated play. Young children thrive on repetition in a supportive environment.
Tap the "i" icon (lower right corner of each game) for details on the skill taught.
The app tracks your child's progress, providing reports showing their achievement compared to other U.S. children of the same age. This helps you identify areas needing extra attention.
For 2-5 year-olds, games cover: singing the ABCs, letter shape matching, letter sounds, vocabulary expansion, rote counting to 30, and emotion recognition.
The READY! program is built on 26 age-level targets—measurable skills a typical 5-year-old should master before kindergarten. These research-based targets were developed over seven years by early learning experts, working with families, scientists, and educators.
READY! for Kindergarten received a Top 100 Award from District Administration Magazine in 2013.
