Fans of The Last of Us were recently left reeling by Neil Druckmann's suggestion that a new game might not be on the horizon. However, a flicker of hope has ignited thanks to insider Daniel Richtman, who claims the next installment is not only in development but has already begun filming, with actors already cast.

Considering Druckmann's previously vague statements, this rumor warrants consideration. His comment about "no next The Last of Us" could have referred to a sequel already underway. Furthermore, he's employed similar ambiguity before announcements, notably prior to Part II. However, it's important to note Richtman's track record includes inaccurate leaks.

Despite this, the existence of at least a concept for a new game is confirmed. Any official announcement, however, may be delayed to avoid overshadowing Naughty Dog's upcoming new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
