Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a sprawling RPG that offers a wealth of activities beyond its main quest. Even after you've completed the main storyline, there's still plenty to explore and enjoy. Here’s a detailed look at what awaits you post-credits in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
After beating the main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the world of Feudal Japan remains fully open for exploration. You can dive back into the vast array of side content without any restrictions. The game's expansive open world is brimming with activities, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the historical setting.
Moreover, post-launch, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will introduce new weekly challenges via the Animus, providing even more content to engage with after achieving 100% completion.
Even after the credits roll, there might be more to the story. In my experience, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, I hadn't yet unlocked the trophy for finishing Act 3 or The Epilogue.
To unlock the epilogue and the true ending, you must complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. After doing so, return to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko. This will grant you the complete ending and the associated achievements in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Additionally, exclusive gear sets themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke become available near the game's end. These sets come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist's playstyle and are designed to resonate with longtime Assassin’s Creed fans.
As for endgame content, you can continue to level up your characters all the way to the game’s maximum level cap, even after the credits have rolled.
While the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows concludes at launch, the game's future looks bright with ongoing updates. New content will be added through the Animus, and the in-game store will likely see new items. Additionally, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is set to release in 2025, taking players to the Island of Awaji for over 10 hours of new content.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
