Elden Ring Nightreign: A Poisonous Swamp-Free Experience?
From Software's upcoming cooperative title, Elden Ring Nightreign, will notably omit the series' signature poisonous swamps, a detail revealed by product manager Yasuhiro Kitao. While a swamp-like area was featured in the trailer, Kitao clarifies it's a distinct location. This omission is attributed to the absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, From Software's head and a known enthusiast of swamp environments, from the game's development. Miyazaki's influence is evident in the swamp locations present in both Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series.

The possibility of a two-player mode remains open. While initially excluded due to content balancing concerns – with only one-player and three-player modes announced – From Software is currently exploring the feasibility of adding this option. No final decision has been reached.
Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release on May 30, 2025, for PC and current and next-gen consoles.
