Baldur's Gate III's eighth and potentially final major patch is undergoing its official stress test. While some Sony console players received early access, players opting out of the test are advised to reinstall the game.
Patch 8 introduces highly anticipated cross-platform play, uniting PC and console players. Players can invite friends across platforms via linked Larian accounts. Remarkably, modded gameplay is also supported in crossplay, provided all mods used by the PC player are available on Mac and consoles, and the host's lobby doesn't exceed ten mods.
Multiplayer receives a significant boost with the addition of split-screen co-op on the Xbox Series S, a feature previously unavailable on this console.
Further enhancements in Patch 8 include a fully customizable photo mode and twelve new subclasses, adding depth and variety to gameplay. Bug fixes and balance adjustments are also included, although some issues may persist. A comprehensive changelog for the stress test is accessible on the game's official website.
