In the Marvel Rivals files, dataminers have found a fight with a kraken and a new mode

Reliable dataminer X0X_Leaks uncovered hints of a new PvE mode in the upcoming Marvel Rivals update. Files reveal a kraken boss encounter, with existing animations but low-resolution textures. The dataminer even showcased a size-based in-game approximation of the kraken to give players a preview.

Marvel Rivals also detailed its major Spring Festival event, launching this Thursday. This event introduces a unique 3v3 game mode, "Clash of Dancing Lions," awarding players a free Star-Lord costume. The mode involves teams scoring a ball into opposing goals, bearing a striking resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball and, by extension, Rocket League.

This similarity is noteworthy, considering Marvel Rivals' apparent current market dominance over Overwatch. To maintain its distinction, Marvel Rivals needs to generate original content. However, its inaugural major event echoes the style of Overwatch's initial event, albeit with a distinct Chinese cultural theme instead of Overwatch's Olympic Games aesthetic.
