The House of the Dead 2: Remake – A Classic Returns in Spring 2025

Get ready for a blast from the past! Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio are bringing back the iconic 1998 arcade horror shooter, The House of the Dead 2, with a complete remake launching on all major platforms in Spring 2025.

This revamped version promises a modern gaming experience while retaining the core thrills of the original. Expect significantly enhanced visuals, new environments to explore, and updated audio that will immerse you in the zombie-infested chaos. The gameplay has been revitalized, too, with options for both single-player and co-op modes.

Originally a Sega arcade hit, The House of the Dead 2 defined a unique style of on-rails shooting, differentiating itself from contemporaries like Resident Evil. Its blend of intense action and gory zombie hordes cemented its place as a genre classic. While previous ports existed on consoles like the Dreamcast, Xbox, and Wii, this remake represents a complete overhaul.

The announcement trailer showcases the graphical improvements and remastered soundtrack. Players once again step into the shoes of a secret agent battling a massive zombie outbreak, now with expanded environments and multiple gameplay modes, including Classic Campaign and Boss Mode, branching narrative paths, and multiple endings.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC (GOG and Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game aims to deliver a faithful recreation of the arcade experience, complete with high-energy music, explosive action, and combo counters, all enhanced with modern visuals and a streamlined HUD.

Joining the recent wave of retro horror game revivals (think Resident Evil remakes and the Clock Tower remaster), The House of the Dead 2: Remake is sure to excite fans of classic zombie horror and retro gaming alike. Stay tuned for further updates as the release date approaches.
