The Zone has never been so active with STALKER 2’s large player base. The developers GSC Game World proudly declared that the game sold 1 million copies in just two days on Steam and their social media channels!

Launched last November 20, 2024, STALKER 2 captivated many players as the game transported them to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, where they must battle and survive against hostile NPCs and mutated creatures. The 1 million copies sold represents total sales from both Steam and Xbox Series X|S platforms. However, more are joining the fray, with stalkers subscribed to Xbox Game Pass.

Although the developers didn't reveal the number of Game Pass players for STALKER 2, the actual player count is likely greater than the reported sales figures. With this remarkable accomplishment, the developers expressed appreciation to the STALKER 2 players. “This is just the beginning of our unforgettable adventure,” the developers stated. “With gratitude as vast as the X-labs network, we want to say: Thank You, stalkers!”

Devs Requested Players to Report Bugs

Despite STALKER 2’s robust initial sales, the game is not immune to glitches and other problems. On November 21, the developers requested the players’ assistance in enhancing the game, stating "We are constantly improving the game with hotfixes and patches, but to find the ‘anomalies’ to fix, we need your help."

The developers created a website for players who encountered glitches or wanted to share feedback on Stalker 2. "If you encounter unusual behavior, a glitch, a crash, or are unsure whether the game is working as intended, please leave a request for Technical Support, sharing all the details about your case, on the special website we’ve prepared."

In this case, players can go to its Technical Support assistance webpage to report a specific problem, share some feedback, or even suggest new features. Meanwhile, players can also visit the game’s Technical Support Hub main page to check out FAQs and some troubleshooting guides.

The developers also advised players to avoid reporting bugs on STALKER 2’s Steam page. "Please, refer to this website as your primary source for help with technical issues. If you create the topic on the Steam Forum - there are fewer chances that it will be reviewed."

First Post-Release Patch Arriving This Week

After collecting sufficient player feedback, the developers announced the forthcoming initial patch for STALKER 2 on its Steam page on November 24. "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is receiving an initial patch during the upcoming week — both on PC and Xbox," they shared.

According to their Steam post, the patch resolves issues such as crashes, main quest progression impediments, and others. The update will also enhance gameplay and perform balance refinements to improve overall player experience, including rectifying weapon prices. They also mentioned that the analog stick and A-Life systems will be addressed in subsequent updates.

The post concludes with a sincere message to players. "We want to reassure you once more that we will make every effort to consistently improve your S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl experience," the developers stated. "We are truly grateful for your feedback and improvement suggestions."
