What is Snap Recap?

Unlike other year-in-review features that focus on detailed statistics, Snap Recap presents a curated selection of snaps—typically one per month—highlighting your year. It's a more casual, less data-driven approach. The recap seamlessly integrates with Snapchat Memories, allowing you to explore additional flashbacks from previous years.

How to View Your Snap Recap

Accessing your 2024 Snap Recap is simple:

1. From the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe upwards to access Memories (don't press the shutter button).
2. Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to view your curated selection of snaps. The recap plays automatically, but you can tap the screen to advance through the photos and videos. You can save, edit, share, or even add your recap to your Story.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't showing up, don't worry. Snapchat's support team explains that the rollout is gradual, and yours might not be generated yet. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is created. Infrequent Snapchat usage may also prevent a recap from appearing. Unfortunately, you can't request a recap if one isn't automatically generated.
