Piston requires a separate ELM327 Bluetooth or Wi-Fi adapter and is compatible with OBD-II (OBD2, OBDII), and EOBD standards. OBD2 is mandated in the USA for vehicles from 1996 onwards. In the EU, EOBD was required for petrol cars from 2001 and diesel cars from 2004. Australia and New Zealand adopted OBD2 for petrol cars from 2006 and diesel cars from 2007.
