Smite 2 Free-to-Play Launch Date Announced Alongside New Character

Smite 2's Open Beta Launches January 14th with Aladdin and More!

Get ready, Smite fans! Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, enters its free-to-play open beta on January 14, 2025. This launch marks a significant milestone for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game, bringing a revamped experience to a wider audience.

The open beta will feature a wealth of new content, including:

• Aladdin: The first God from the Tales of Arabia pantheon, a Magical Assassin and Jungler with unique wall-running and trapping abilities, joins the roster on January 14th.
• Returning Favorites: Popular Gods from the original Smite, such as Mulan, Geb, Ullr, and Agni, return with updated skill sets.
• Expanded God Roster: The beta will offer access to 20 of the game's 45 dynamic Gods, with the total number expected to reach nearly 50 by the end of January 2025.
• New Game Modes: Experience thrilling new gameplay with the introduction of Joust (a 3v3 mode on an Arthurian-themed map with teleporters and stealth grass) and Duel (a 1v1 mode on the same map).
• Aspects System: This innovative system lets players modify their God's abilities, trading certain facets for powerful boons. For instance, Athena can forgo her ally-shielding teleport for a damaging teleport to enemies.
• Quality-of-Life Improvements: Smite 2 will feature significant quality-of-life enhancements, including Role Guides, helpful new player messages, PC text chat, improved item store, death recaps, and more.

Beyond the in-game updates, the first Smite 2 esports tournament finale will take place at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas from January 17-19.
