Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Testing Dates Confirmed

Ardent Call of Duty fans, get ready for Black Ops 6! On the first episode of the official Call of Duty podcast, Activision has announced the dates for the game’s multiplayer beta, which will be done in two parts. Early access beta will begin on August 30th and end on September 4th, where it will be available for those with Black Ops 6 pre-orders, or currently have active subscriptions to certain Game Pass plans. Once that ends, the beta will then be free for all aspiring players from September 6 to 9.

Set the date if you want to join in on the next installment of this renowned franchise! The full game release is slated for October 25, 2024 for PC through Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. And as previously mentioned, it will also be launching on the Xbox Game Pass!

New And Updated Mechanics

The podcast also shared some exclusive details about the upcoming new entry, confirmed by Treyarch’s associate director of design, Matt Scronce, who was interviewed during the podcast. On launch day, Black Ops 6 will have 16 multiplayer maps, 12 of which are the core 6v6 maps and the other four being Strike maps that can be played as 6v6 or 2v2. Zombies, one of the more popular gameplay modes in Call of Duty, is returning to Black Ops 6 as well, including two new maps to play in. A new mechanic called ‘Omnimovement’ will also be added into the game.

Veteran COD players may be excited for this welcome return—making a comeback from past iterations is the traditional score streak system, which the most recent Black Ops, Cold War, deviated from. Scores will now again reset when the player is knocked out from combat. Another interesting addition to the game is the dedicated melee weapon slot, which eliminates the need to give up a secondary weapon to hold a knife, a feature that Scronce shared that the Treyarch team is excited for.

A full Black Ops 6 multiplayer reveal will also happen at the Call of Duty Next event on August 28.
